I’ve changed the working title of Book Three of the Patricia MacPherson Nautical Adventure Series to Yankee Moon. Am writing from multiple points of view which is very liberating. Lot’s of conflict as Patricia finds herself wound up in the affairs of the colonists right when Parliament is imposing the Stamp Act. Then along comes His Majesty’s frigate, Richmond and Brian Dalton…
I’m also editing a novel I wrote back in 2007 during NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month), which if you’re not familiar is a worldwide novel writing fest that takes place every November. The point of it is to challenge you to get the novel you’ve been thinking about down on paper in thirty days. You just write the the whole bloody mess. It ain’t pretty, but it’s ALIVE! It has heart and bones, it just needs a little flesh and time to mature.
The working title for my 2007 NaNoWriMo novel is “Looking for Redfeather.” It is contemporary fiction, a road trip story, and since part of it takes place in Arizona, now is the perfect time for me to be adding some telling detail, stuck as I am in Tucson for the next few months. Besides — the characters were banging to get out of the computer file, so I’ve let them loose and all hell has broken out. But I love these kids, let’s go with it.
Writing like crazy in two different centuries, and lovin’ it! Who says you can’t time travel?
